    UGHHHH they are locked....
I packed my snakes up this morning to bring them with me to my friends house while my house is getting the wooded floors redone till Friday. I dropped them off this morning out here and just got out here a little bit ago from work. I went to check on everyone and to my surprise Loopy and my big female are locked together. O_O NOT what I want or even thought would happen since neither have been cooled this season. I'm not sure how long they have been locked togther but would like to cut it out. Would it be okay if I just pulled them apart or should I just let them finish when they feel like it? Then again they are going to be in the same tub till Friday so I can't really seprate them till then so this may happen again.

Yup I'm an idiot who should have thought about that before leaving this morning but brining 3 tubs with snakes housed together instead of all 6 seprated was a lot easier.

So could I just pull them part if I see them locked up again?

    No...

    You could damage the penes..

Let them be and take them apart when you see them apart.

If you have ever looked at the hemipenes, it has "hooks" on the end.

This is what happens if a female get pulled apart from the male. This girl (western hognose) startled and bolted, ripping the male out of her. She was cut up pretty bad internally and had to take a year off of breeding.

Oh wow I never knew they had "hooks". I'll just let them be and move them from each other when they aren't locked up. Hopefully she doesn't take from this.

Your poor hog, man that looks like it hurt!

Yeah, both got an emergency trip to the vet! Male was fine, but the girl got a nice years vacation.

    LMAO Derek

I'm surprised he "found it".... unless it was her who made the moves. Either way their little romance will be a one night stand type of thing.

    That does look painful!

This demonstrates a very good reason to get them used to us opening the tubs at any time.
