What to do....
Ok so long story short I have moved back to my home town of Cleburne TX.
Now for the really bad news I went to the local pet shop in the mall here and I decided to go look at the herps. I looked at the BPs first of course ant there were two juveniles in the same cage and a small and I mean small water dish with dried urates all over the cage no humidity gauge no temp gauge one of them looked dead and the other one looked almost dead was not flickering its tongue nothing!!! they had stuck on sheds all over them. I normally do not tap on the cages but I had to see if the would move the one kinda lifted its head and the one that was against the glass did not move at all. there were little red bugs and mites EVERYWHERE! and they wanted $130 for each. I looked at the other herps the beardie was $200 and it was a full adult in a 10G cage. In the iguanas cage there were 3 small iguanas in a 10G cage with stuck shed all over the place and a dead one in there. I looked at the blue tailed skink which was dead long dead it was all sunken in and crunchy looking. there were about 15 green anoles in a 10G tank there was urates all over the cage.
I wanted to cry and I am a grown man who can handle most situations and turn off the emotion. I am not a hard core meanie or any thing but I can hold it together.
So after all that what can I do??? some one please help. also where can I get my feeders from??? I was planning on getting my feeders from there but if they treat the animals you can see that badly what about the animals in the back???
So if some one knows where I can get feeders in this area please help.
I do not mind driving to Ft. Worth to get feeders. Does any one know where I can get ASFs here. I would like to start breeding ASFs.

Re: What to do....
do you feed live or frozen?

Re: What to do....
report them! That's inhumane.

Re: What to do....
Call your local humane society or wildlife officers. Report in detail the conditions, calmly and professionally, without swearing or acting emotional and insane. That way they will take it serious. If they blow you off, then say you're going to tell the local news about the inhumane conditions. Then go do it. Local news LOVE animals in peril stories. Even when it's "just reptiles".

I second AND third that! Report, report, report!
Not only this is animal cruelty, animal endangerment, and animal abuse. Such conditions are breeding grounds for disease and bacteria and thus is very dangerous for humans. Just think if a child asks to hold a ball python, the place is so careless they probably wouldn't even bothering giving the kid some hand disinfectant. If that kid goes off then and sticks his hands in his mouth, he could become seriously ill or even die!
I am VERY particular when it comes to reptiles and small mammals. You must always keep your cages clean, always make sure they are properly sized, and ALWAYS wash your hands after handling.
I learned the hand washing part the hard way. After I handling my Savannah Monitor, I bit my nails (I've nearly broke the habit now) before washing my hands. I was violently ill for the next week with salmonella poisoning. NOT a fun experience.
If I could, I'd report them myself. This is just wrong.

Re: What to do....
Big Cheese Rodents is in Ft Worth. They have a $25 minimum purchase. The frozen and live prices are the same and they allow live orders to be picked up.

I live in Arlington and drive to Big Cheese. I honestly don't know if they have ASFs. Their product is good quality and my snakes eat them up!

I feed live. Also I would like to feed ASFs. If any one knows of some where around here i can get a trio of ASFs to breed that would be great.
I thought about the big cheese in Ft. Worth but for some reason I dont know why I don't want to feed mice. I would just prefer to do rats but mostly I would like ASFs

Re: What to do....
Why do you think Big Cheese just carries mice? BTW, I ONLY feed mice and my snakes are happy(figuratively speaking), healthy and fat(ask the 50+ Balls in my care).
BCR carries mice, rats and rabbits, both f/t and live. No ASFs as of yet, but you may want to ask around at the Arlington shows. I know some people have them. I just have a 1.4 group.
