Varying amounts of light cause stress?
I know this may sound dumb, but I just got my Herpstat II and use heat lights for my cages. To keep the temp right the lights will dim/get brighter every couple of minutes.

Do you think the lights dimming and getting brighter will cause any issues? When I sit in the same room I catch it out of the corner of my eye and it bothers the hell out of me, but I'm not a snake so I don't know if it does the same to them.

One solution is to use ceramic emitters and a non-heat providing light for the day cycle, but money is now tight after buying the thermostat.
