    Its really all about the delivery.

    Venom is delivered via injection; fang, spine, spur, etc. Ex: venomous snakes, lionfish, stonefish, etc.

    Toxins are natural "poisons" that are delivered via absorbtion or ingestion. Ex: poison dart frogs, pufferfish, firebelly toads, etc.

    The term "poison" (at least in the medical field) is usually reserved for unnatural toxins; i.e. someone ingesting anti-freeze, or something. IN other words, non-biological.
