    1759... A bit of a suprise there
Well, I got a bit of a suprise tonight, and a good one at that. I was watering and while I was at it, I decided to take my het albino female and stick her on the scale...

Last time I placed her on the scale, she was under 1500g, tonight, she hit the mark at 1759 :D

Now I am starting to plan, I have two potential mates for her, for a long term project.

First mate would be a 50% possible het piebald male I can run through her, this, at least the way I see it, has a very slim chance of eventualy producing a piebald or albino pied. But on the bright side, I could get some 50% poss het albinos. I would love a pied and would love an albino pied, but understand It would be a ways off and may not pan out.

The other mate would give me slightly better odds, I have a TSK het axanthic, so I could make possible double het snows

Right now I am leaning for the long term albino piebald project :)

I wouldn't waste proving out a possible het male on your het albino you may be in for big disappointment in the end. If you really want to produce albino pieds I would get a 100% het male. They are very cheap these days.

Thats why I put that part in there about it being a long shot and may not pan out.
I would have to wait for the boy to get to size and thats another year of waiting, while I got males that are ready to go now. Why not use what I already got, ya know? :)

Next year I should have a male pin ready to go, who has a 50% chance to be het for albino

that sounds like a good one!! I actually meant to say get a 100% het proven breeder. They are really cheap if you look around you can find them for $150 or less. I got mine from a guy who produced a male pied and didn't need the het anymore.

Wow congrats. Y'know I've seen quite a few 100% het albino males of breeding size around for 100-200 bucks that might be a really good way to go. Then next year when that pin is up to size you can try him with her and still have a really good chance at an albino this year!

I would probably look for a het male breeder if I did not just max my self out and buy a lesser platinum... A lesser one of the other ones I wanted really bad. Maybe next year I can get my piebald project off to a better start or at least get something that will help with my odds
