    Help.Unabsorbed yolk
I had 4 babies hatch out about 4 weeks ago. 3 are fine and eating one had a really hard yolk that stayed attached for about a week after. Then it dried up. The umbilical hasn't fully grown inside the snake and I am worried. It ate once but it hasn't defecated. I don't know what to do? I figured it would dry up and be fine like the rest of the balls but hasn't happened? I soak it every other day in a diluted novalsan solution so that the thing doesn't get infected but I am at a loss as for what to do. The poor thing hasn't even shed yet. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

i had a 7 egg clutch on 6-7-08 and 6 were 60-75 grams and exited the eggs just fine and shed shortly after and then fed soon after that.one female left the egg before totally absorbing the yoke, she actually broke the cord and was only 36 grams with a 1/2 inch of cord attached when leaving the egg.

she shed on 7-10 and didn't feed until 8-6.it seemed her first shed and meal was just slow in coming.she is now almost caught up to her clutch mates, well over 100 grams.

not quite the same situation as yours but maybe it will just take more time for it to catch up,the positive thing is yours is eating.perhaps the soaks could be the reason the cord hasen't dried up and fallen off yet.have fun !
