flexwatt and thermostat question
I built my first rack on saturday and it came out beautifully, flexwatt is wired, installed and I have the thermostat set up, temps are regulated just fine, humidity is fine, however... I built a 6 shelf rack and the thermostat I have only has availability to plug 3 cords in, I tried using a 4ft extension cord to hook up all of them and the 2 strips connected directly to the thermostat are working, but not the strips connected to the thermo by the extension cord, so I guess my question is how do I get all 6 shelves heated successfully on one thermostat? Thanks

Use 3 splitters and plug two strips into each.

But where can I get splitters for wires like that, I've only seen splitters for tv cables and phone jacks?

The way you have it is fine. I would plug that extension cord directly into the wall and see if the heat tape warms up, don't let it get too hot and melt keep an eye on it.. it should heat up quick. Try with a different extension cord. I have had a similar problem with a cheap extension cord causing one rack to not get power. Luckily it wasn't the one with the probe or it would have caused a disaster.

Right on
Wiring it in parallel would have been an easier solution for a rack allowing you to use one plug.

Another thing is what size of Flexwatt are you using and what is the rating of the thermostat? Depending on size flexwatt is 8-20 watts per foot, so you need to make sure you are exceeding the wattage of the thermostat.
