    England's Illegal Exotic Animal Laws
Wondering if anyone knows a website that will give me a full list of all England's illegal exotic animals.
    Thankyou.

    Hi,

I'm guessing DEFRA would be about the only place that might be able to answer fully - iirc any list such as you are seeking would be spread out over a couple of different acts such as the DWA and the invasive species act.

I'm also not sure if you would want to include CITES 1 in the list as, unless you are a zoo or research establishment, they really might as well be considered banned as well in practical terms. Ditto for any animals that do not live long enough to get through quarantine (small list though I would think).

It's a lot simpler to ask them about a specific species really. :(

There aren't any illegal exotic animals! Do you mean animals that would require a license to keep?

Let me take this opportunity and ask: how are the laws about keeping Boidae and Pythonidae ? Totally free? Special license requirements depending on species / size ? Giant 5 prohibited ?

    Thanks in advance

Only venomous fall under the DWAL. All Pythons and Boas are available to the general public with no questions ask. Apart from responsible breeders and Reptile shop owners.

Yes. This is what I mean. I want a list of exotic animals that I need a license to own. Thanks for putting it out more clearly.
