Albino x Mojave???
Hello,
I come from germany, and at first I want to say sorry for my bad english.
I have a question about genetic.
If I breed Albino and Mojave, what´s the result? Some say, I will get normal and Mojave, and some say, I can also get Albino.
What is right?
I would be very happy if you can help me.
Many greetings from germany,
Diana

Re: Albino x Mojave???
Albino is a recessive gene so you would only get an albino if the mojave was het for albino.
You will get normals and mojaves...which will be het for albino. So if you bred one of the babies back to the albino then you would be able to get albinos.
Take a look at this link which will help explain how genetics work.

Re: Albino x Mojave???
I don't know a whole lot about this stuff, but albino is recessive so your Mojave would need to be het, or a gene carrier, to produce any albinos. Mojave is co-dominate so you can produce them with a normal.
So yes, you will produce normals and mojaves if you breed those two snakes.

Re: Albino x Mojave???
Your all mostly right. albino x mojave will result in mojave het albinos and het albinos. NO normals, ALL 100% hets. If you were to breed one of the mojave het albinos back to an albino you can produce a mojave albino. I'm not 100% sure, so dont hold me to this part of this post that you have a 1 in 16 chance of producing a mojave albino with this breeding.

Re: Albino x Mojave???
Mojave Het Albino x Albino
25% Mojave
25% Het Albino
25% Albino
25% Mojave Albino
First off the mojave gene has 50% of showing up on the offspring, from here they will have 100% chance of having 1 gene for albinism, then of those there is a 50% chance of producing albino or just Het Albino.
