Tell me what it is please

Ive had my male pastel and my normal female kicking it with me today, and just noticed on the males a little black thing sticking out of the middle of his vent, when i went for further inspection i couldnt see it anymore. Whats the deal??

Sounds like it could be a mite possibly?

I'd keep a close eye out and give the snakes and their tanks/tubs a good once over. If you see anymore treatment will probably be in order.

nah its not a mite, it was pointy and sharp, seemed like it was supposed to be there, is this maybe part of the reproductive system? i dunno. But i will keep an eye on him i hope little mites dont show up everywhere i hate those

i didnt think so...damn. i tried to take a pic couldnt by myself maybe when my roommates up i can i hope he aint sick.

the visual im getting is very disturbing, anyway you could describe it ,more?
shiny ,dull ,size in relation to vent, exact location (to the left or right)
i better not get an infraction for asking that!
anyways might be just peice a substrate coulda even gone thru the digestive track prolly come out when he poops

I know you said it wasn't a mite, but are you positive? That's the first thing that came to mind when I read your post.

positive its jnot mites, its stationary, not animal or parasite like, directly in the middle, dull, kinda soft, i jus fed him so hopefully when he goes number 2 itll come out, if not ill take him to the vet. and its not very disturbing the only way to see it is it get realy close and pull back the vent just barely, hmm how else could i describe it..its like a centimeter long, not very wide...

swallowed his own tongue!!!! nah he licked me right now, so thats not the case

and as far as substrate, i use newspaper, could he of swallowed a little piece of that and inside him it turned back, cuz it does seem to have the consistency of paper (yea i touched it a little)
