    First attempt at feeding...
My snake was last fed at the place I got her from exactly seven days ago.
I tried feeding her today, it was a live pinkie but she didn't seem to interested in it.
I plan to switch her to F/T when she gets big enough to handle a mouse.
She's currently 16 inches long, is it possible that maybe it was too small for her and I should already be feeding her fuzzies?

I know they can be fussy eaters, but I thought I should ask before I try to feed her again tomorrow.

    Thanks!

pinky mice? I would say they are too small and not active enough.. I start most of my hatchlings on fuzzy rat pups which are about the size of a mouse hopper. the ones that dont start on rats get hopper mice..

I went back to the store and they let me trade it for a juvenile mouse which is about the size of the widest part of her body, and she still didn't seem very interested at all.
    I'm thinking she's just not hungry :(

Also, you should be waiting at least 4-5 days before attempting another feeding. Personally I allow all my new snakes to settle in for 2 weeks before attempting to feed them unless they are hissy in which case they usually eat right away.

did the pet store tell you what they were eating before? mice pinks are just so small

I'll wait then before I make another attempt.
And the guy said that's what they had been feeding them, I thought it was a bit too small myself which is why I made the exchange.
She's exactly 7 weeks old today as well.

I hope she eats for you next time :) I know first hand the stress when a baby wont eat. 6 out of 9 i hatched out this year had a rocky start.. I have some 3 month old ones that have only eaten 2-3 times..

    Yeah, me too!
It's just hard because she's my first snake and I'm already extremely paranoid as it is :P

    Thanks for the help though!

    It could be too soon.

This is where that leaving them alone when they first get home thing comes into play - since you only brought her home last thursday and you mentioned you didn't know about leaving them alone to let them adjust she probably isn't adjusted enough yet.

What you should do is leave her completely alone from now until next thursday like I mentioned in the other post, and then try to feed her then.

It won't hurt her to miss a meal.

    :)

Yeah, I'm gonna do that for sure.
Hopefully that'll be enough time for her, I'm thinking I'll try next weekend just for a little extra time in between.
