    Trying to pinpoint age
Is there certain months of the year that all snake clutches are born??? I have an '07 hatchling but am trying to see just how many months old she is.

Anyone out there can shed some light on this.

    Thanks.

Snakes are hatched all throughout the year.

Unless the breeder tells you the date it will be impossible for you to pinpoint it yourself.

Darn - that is what I was afraid of. I bought her at a Reptile Show and with it being my first snake and all I never thought to ask specifics about her age other than that she was an '07 hatchling.

Oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter - she is simply a pet and not for breeding purposes.

Given her current weight of 349 grams - can any one take a guess as to how old she is??
    Thanks.

She's an '07? Based on that weight, if she doesn't have internal parasites, and has eaten consistently for you - probably a late '07 (October/November/December).

Yes, she eats very good for me - currently eating two adult mice every week.

I have never had her checked for parasites - is this something I should do??

Is there something I should be looking for in her poop that would indicate a parasite problem??

If you have a vet in your area take them a stool sample and have them run a fecal float. This is the only way to identify if and what kind of parasites are present. My vet charges me $30 to do a fecal float on my new snakes.

I did the same thing, and I just emailed the breeder about it a few days after the show. Did you get a website or email address from whatever breeder you bought her from? They may be able to tell you.

Just wanted to share the latest weight on my female ball - she is an '07 hatchling and at her last weigh in on 11/05/08 she weighed 429grams empty - which means she gained 80 grams in one month - I was shocked.
