Savannah monitor cage + him VIDEO!

Hes here and I love him! After the video I picked him up for about ten minutes and after he let go of my finger he really calmed down. Tell me what you think, any constructive criticism is welcomed:)

How do you stop those big peices of slate slipping and landing on the lil spud?

I have some here and am trying to work out how to secure it to prevent accidents.

lol, i was wondering if anyone would catch that:P He stayed on for a good few minutes, the power to clamp on that he has is amazing, but still not enough to break the skin yet.

Im about to gorilla glue it. Right now it is fine like it is unless he REALLY wanted to move the pieces, and even then I do not think he would be able to because the bedabeast really keeps it in place. what I might do is put some stoppers there instead.

You need better hiding spots in the enclosure. See how he is crammed into a tight spot in the video? Those sorts of hiding areas will be much more functional in comparision to the half log and plastic hide. They like tight secure spots.

That was the first and only time I ever found him under there, he was moving a lot when I first got into the room but when he noticed my presence he stopped moving.

You will find him there again ;) Snug hiding spots feel secure.....just like with ball pythons...lack of security can lead to all sorts of issues.

Also, I wouldn't recommend holding him too much for the first few weeks. Let the little guy settle into his surroundings and start consistantly feeding....then gain trust and work up to handling.
