Re: feeding crested gecko
a sprinkle is usually good for feeding crickets to just about any reptile.
Do crickets normally provide more or less calcium than your gecko powder? I'd say if you're diluting(for the lack of a better word, I think baby food has less calcium than gecko powder) the powder with baby food, a little more calcium in the diet would probably be good.
Re: feeding crested gecko
can you give them too much calcium, and i do put the power gecko food in the baby food!!!
Re: feeding crested gecko
yeah I was saying that since you're mixing gecko powder and baby food, they don't get as much calcium as if they were on a 100% gecko food diet.
Supposedly gecko food provides the exact balance of nutrients and calories and calcium and everything else a gecko needs, and anything you do to change that balance(i.e. giving baby food or crickets) should be rebalanced(powdering the crickets a little). Just what I've read.
Yes you CAN give too much calcium, you can give too much of anything.
Re: feeding crested gecko
i have tried to get him just the gecko food but he wont eat it...he was raised on mixing it with the baby food...so i will go and get a bottle of the calcuim and start using that....
