Vanishing shed with my JCP?

My JCP went blue last week, and I mean very obviously so. Completely opaque eyes, the whole thing.

I offered her a rat that night and she took it eagerly. I know some people don't feed during a shed but I thought I would offer it, and she hit it immediately.

I checked on her the next day, and her eyes were clear, her scales had regained their lustre, but there was no shed in the tank. I took her out, checked in her hides, moved around the substrate, checked the plants, nothing.

I have no idea where the shed skin is... Can they stop shedding once they have reached a certain point, or might they eat their own shed skin or something? I'm stumped :confused:

Snakes go through a clear state right before they shed.

So blue -> clear -> shed? It's been over a week since she was in blue...

Thanks guys. I never noticed her go blue on her first shed (only had her about 3 months) so I wasn't aware that they went clear again. She ate again last night, with gusto, so I'm not worried about her. Just confused! :)

after their eyes clear give them about a week or so.. make sure their humidity is stable :) and you should be good to go!

My female IJ sheds just short of a week after she goes blue and my male sheds in a week or so. He goes 6 to 8 days typically, she is about a 4 or 5 day girl.
Don't worry, she won't forget to shed!

the bigger your carpet gets, the longer it takes to go from clear to actually shedding...

And of course, I check on her later today, and there is the shed... :rolleyes:
