Omg! Fedex truck set on fire.
Yeesh these things are flammable. like 5 this month set on fire.
Anyways I ordered an exoterra cage via ebay and the freaking shipping truck set on fire. The lady that I bought it from was super nice though. She is sending me a new one on monday. but wtf. I did a google search and you can see like 20 pages of stuff about these trucks setting on fire. glad I wasn't ordering a live animal. I wondeer if that has ever happened to anyone just thought I would share. lol
Re: Omg! Fedex truck set on fire.
Probably cheaper to pay for the stuff in the trucks rather than fix/replace the trucks. Good that you are still getting your cage.
Re: Omg! Fedex truck set on fire.
You would think that Fedex would replace your stuff if they had it in a truck that burst into flames.

Most of those trailers out on the road are pretty flimsy, unless it's a reefer. The dry vans are pretty much just plastic/sheet metal over plywood with a very thin roof and wooden floors.
I hope the driver was okay.

At work we had a customer that ordered $100,000 part and somehow the box opened and the part was lost via UPS. When a package is damaged at UPS it is all documented so UPS admitted fault. Unfortunately, UPS only insures a package for $100 unless the buyer buys additional insurance. Fedex is very similar. I don't work in the sales department so I was shocked to learn this.
Anytime you have something shipped make sure to sped the extra few bucks on additional insurance if it's over $100. Also, Fedex will not guarantee animals at all.
Now, if the $100,000 part mentioned above would have been say a $500 part, my company would have sent the customer a replacement just to keep the customer satisfied and that is the general practice of most large companies. This customer will have to rely on his business insurance to sort out the loss and from what I understand the business insurance will pay .50 on the dollar.
