    Lemon Pastel vs. Jungle Pastel
Im getting a lemon pastel, titan, on tuesday, jus wondering if lemon is just a preference in name to the jungle pastel, or if its actually that much different, as ive seen pics of lemons that are kinda dull and jungles that are extremely bright.

Really, to my knowledge, it's just a line. They are both pastels, and if you bred them together you would still get the same results.
I've seen gorgeous lemons and gorgeous jungles. I've seen browned out both. It really depends on the animal. :]

Lemon pastels are a linage that Kevin from NERD termed. He imported one of the first founding pastels from Africa along with Greg Graziani.

The further you get from NERD, I would have to say, with only a few exceptions, the less like a lemon pastel the animals tend to look. <lol>

A Pastel is a Pastel is a Pastel....Lemon is just a line named by NERD. If you ask Kevin, he will tell you the Lemon line is yellow, with the black staying dark black. Graziani, usually had lighter black, kind of a faded look. Most lines are going to throw nice, average, and ugly offspring. To me, a nice Pastel depends as much on the normal female's appearance, as the male Pastel. Breed a male Pastel to a dark female, and a light female, and see if there is a difference in the offspring...I bet there will be.

For those of you who have not gotten a Pastel, and are wondering which to buy...my advice, if you see a nice adult, buy it, reguardless of the line. If you buy a baby, remember, the orange will probably turn brown, yellow tends to stay yellow into adulthood.

if u get a lemon directly from nerd no browning out on the animal most of the time smae with graziani, they cost more tho but tis worth it, some people just add a line to any pastel to have them sell be care ful it took me a year to actually settle dowm and buy lemon pastels from nerd

Really? I was looking into a very nice looking Super pastel with yellow top and Orange sides.I thought that it was very unique so I was going to get it,but If its going to get browned out with age I'm a little weary of it

Far as I know a jungle pastel is just a heterozygous pastel, so they are all jungles. As noted Lemon is a specfic line.

But you see people all the time asking "is my pastel a lemon"... getting an answer and then claiming it is a lemon from that point on. The only way to know is if the breeder can trace the lineage direct to the original parent.

And I do not agree that all pastels are pastels are pastels... I bought a specific line, due to the ability to hold their yellow and not brown out. And have not been disappointed.

Look at A LOT of pics and get a feel for how the babes age. Do not just buy due to the adjective. You still have to be able to critically evaluate how that individual snake is going to age (if that is indeed important to you).

Not everyone is successful with selective breeding (or breeds selectively).
