Animal Plastics Belly Heat

I got my Animal Plastics T12 today. They forgot to bring the flexwatt with them so they are sending it tomorrow. However they mentioned something about sliding the flexwatt into place when it gets here. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out where I'm supposed to slide this flexwatt belly heat. Does it just go on the bottom of the cage on the outside? I can see where the heat cable can be slid into place but no where for me to slide in flexwatt. Can anybody help me out?

Anybody have anything? I'm concerned that the bottom piece may have not been machined correctly since I can't figure this out. Either that or I am a complete idiot I'm not sure which right now.

isn't there a routered out part on the bottom of the cage?

Are you gettin heat tape or heat Cable? I have a few AP racks ones with cable, and ones with tape. The racks with the wires have a groove that the wire tucks into. The racks with the belly heat tape also have a groves..the outside edges of the heat tape tuck into routed grooves to help it stay put. In both cases the wire and the tape are inside of the rack not outside. Almost direct contact with the tubs with maybe a 1/16-1/8" gap between the tub and tape/wire.

Does your rack have no routed groves? Was it made for cable and they are sending tape? I am kind of confused with what the deal is, do you have pics?

The enclosure I have is the T12. I have an AP rack so I know how that works with the heat tape on the inside. I will get a picture up tonight when I go home to show what I am talking about. On the bottom of the cage there seem to be two spots for different types of heat. One is obviously the heat cable and I understand how this one works. The other one is rectangular shaped and looks like the size of the flexwatt although I can't figure out where the tape is supposed to actually go. I'll put up a picture up tonight.

I forgot to mention some details. I picked up the cage from AP at Tinley but they forgot the heat tape so they are sending it to me. I am using the flexwatt belly heat that they offer. I just can't figure out where it is supposed to actually go.

Ya I actually have the 3 tub AP cb70 rack so I know how that works. Here are some pictures I just took. Maybe the whole thing will make more sense once the Flexwatt gets here.

The pictures are of the cage upside down so the part that is normally facing the floor is now facing the ceiling.

Second one shows the heat cable area. I understand how this works. The heat cable is just threaded through the routed out area so it is halfway through the PVC bottom and therefore only a quarter inch from the snake.

Now this is where I get confused. There are two lines routed out that look to be for cables and one for the thermostat probe. I would think since the heat cable is recessed into the cage that the Flexwatt also would be. However, there is no place to slide the Flexwatt into. It is solid between the grooves. Maybe the Flexwatt just goes on the exterior of the cage? However that would mean the heat would have to go through a full half inch of PVC. When I was at the show they mentioned sliding the Flexwatt into place which is what made me think it would slide in similar in fashion to the heat cable option. Anyways here is a picture of it. I can try to get a better close up if you guys would like.

Do they make a different bottom section depending on the heating type? One routered for the cable and one slotted for the flexwatt?

If so, it sounds like you may have gotten the wrong bottom section................

Ok you have me confused do you have a pic of your heating flex stuff??

I have a AP cage with the same heating grouves etc. it all worked out well just slide in and poof UTH..

I guess I just need to see what your working with. :weirdface
