    NOt shedding
Hey my may 07 female has been eating like crazy lately.
She has been eating a small rat every 2-3 days for about 2-3 weeks now and has now stopped so i think shes full for a while.
The thing is she hasnt shed in 2 full months when normally she would shed around every month and would be eating much less than she is now.
the temps and humidity are fine so i was just wondering if there was anything that could cause a bp not to shed for a while i know shell shed when shes ready but i was just wondering if i should be worried or if its normal

How much does she weigh, and what is her length? That seems like some major powerfeeding you've got going on.

dont worry i wouldnt do that shes only 850 grams and shes close to 3 feet shes far from fat and could put on some extra weight by the looks of her.

Why are you feeding so often? A 90 gram rat once a week is plenty to have her put on weight. You may be facing a fast soon if you don't lay off a bit (in my opinion).

The lack of shedding could just be because of her age. My 750 gram male only sheds once every 6 or 7 weeks.

Honestly part of it was me trying to fatten her up a bit because she is a little skinny and i do want her to breed for me next year.
But its was mostly cuz everytime i wuld walk into my room id look in her cage and find her staring at me waiting for a rat. Shed never done that and had been a bit of a picky eater before. So i made the best of it and gave her the rats when she asked for them. everytime she would look at me like that i would give her one but it only lasted about 2 weeks so i didnt feed her that much.

Do you think i should wait maybe 10 days before trying another rat or even longer cuz the last thing i want is for her to fast.

I wouldn't change her schedule that much, but if you make sure her meals are about 80 grams and take it down to every 5 days she should still be putting on weight well for you.

IF she doesn't eat for you, give her a week.

No, not for now. I would love to breed in the future but I don't know for sure. If you are looking for some reputable breeders around here I can give you a few names, some are even members here.

Yes it sounds like your power feeding , but honestly if your doing it the correct way which it seems you are then there absolutley nothing wrong with it .

countless breeders like myself (even the big boys ) tend to feed heavier for faster addition of weight on their females .

as long as your not forcing her to eat it shes fine, if she dont want the food she simply wont eat it .
as for the sheeding problem . even though you have a power feeding routine in motion ,
the older a snake gets the longer it takes to do a shed .
remember shedding is a process of growth and at a certain age it starts to slow down cause the snakes growth rate slows down ,
yes she will put on weight but weight doesnt mean growing .
a 3 ft ball will prolly shed every other month , some still do shed every month but theres alot that dont .

dont stress to much on it when shes ready she will shed . and
again if your power feeding for extra weight its fine as long as your doing it with some common sense .
