    zoo med heat pads good?
so are zoo-med heat pads good to use? no hot spots?

because thats what im using right now. the pad is right up against the tub and i have a probe directl on the plastic bottom of the tub and it reads 90. and i have aspen bedding but they always move all the bedding and lay right on the plastic. so i was just making sure that the zoo med pads are okay. (they are both controled by one dimmer.)

I use zoo med heat pads, and I use a thin cloth and cardboard to help insulate. I don't like the heat pad right up against the plastic tub. That is just my opinion.

I will NEVER use or recomend anyone to use cloth or carboard with any heating device.

    Just my opinion!

Used zoo med for a yr 1/2 before I switched to flexwatt... Never had an issue with the product itself... just the price. The heat pad is only as good as the thermostat it's hooked up to. If you already have one keep it... just invest in a good thermostat.

I keep seeing 'invest in a good thermostat' and so on..

But what is a good thermostat and where do I get one?

I'm still in the planning phase of getting a ball python, so I'm trying to figure out what's right and for a good price.

I recently started using Helix thermostats and I love them. Temps are very constant will almost zero fluctuation. You can go to reptilebasics.com
    Rich ships very quickly.
