Zoo med heat pad and Sterilite tub ???
Can I use a zoo med heat pad with a reostat(sp) on a sterilite tub? Or will it get too hot . Is it safe. I have lucky in a 20 gallon high aquarium and the temp and humidty are all over the place.

It doesn't matter what type of enclosure you attach it to. If it gets too hot for the material its attached to, then it's WAY too hot for the snake anyhow. If it is maintained at a safe temp for the animal, then it is safe for plastic or glass or whatever.

A rheostat can work to control it, but it's tricky...especially if the ambient temps in the room fluctuate at all. Also, the zoomed pads develop hot spots, so you have to be careful to periodically check the temps of the entire surface being heated and not just one little spot.
