    I may be obtaining a macklots python from craigslist.

    i did some research and I was told (what i read) as these snakes mature they get less nippy. is this true? does anyone have one of these?

    I want one because its a python however it doesnt get too a crazy size of like bigger than 12 feet so thats good for me.

    any/all information will help.

    they are really great snakes there temper is very similar to a carpet nippy when young usually puppy dogs when over about 3 feet =] They are great pythons i love them and plan on getting more.

    Feeding response has been compared to as that of a retic, a good eating retic. Not all retics are food disposals like people think...

    Adult cage can be 4' x 2'. I've heard you can get away with a 3' x 2'.

    They are nippy as youngsters but calm down when they get older. But you do need to interact with them.

    Yep, they calm down and tame nicely. They make awesome pets after the first 6-12 months. My macklott's was the coolest snake I've owned.
