i thought about that actually.. but i decided to go with the tree instead.. noticed that she likes that better.. i had a hide in there the first day.. but she stayed ontop of it and under the one on the hot side.. so i took it out and now she lays under her tree.. she seems happier :P

yeah dude it freaked me out at first.. i was like why isnt she moving? hmm.. weird.. i leave for 10 hours.. she moves 1 inch.. lol

thanks for the suggestion though :)

very cool little girl congrats on your new addition.:gj:

I am not criticising here, just a suggestion, I would make the hide smaller and snugger its a bit on the big side for her IMO. Also as its a glass tank you need to watch for too much moisture and as it all tends to rise to the top and drip back down or sit on the sides and slide down.

Glass tanks do not make great enclosures for controlling humidity levels simply because they are designed to hold water and they dont have the same ventilation you get with other varieties of enclosures. It can get very damp in there if you dont keep an eye on it especially when they start going in and out of there water bowl hehe.

Blood babies are very skittish at 1st and dont like large spaces in my experience, since you have the space why not incorporate additional hide for each end of the thermal gradiant assuming you have a heat mat under one side that is. You can still have the water bowl and tree in there as you have the room for it anyway.

Just a suggestion mind you I am not as I said criticising just offering advice based on my experience with them its entirely up to you whether you judge my advice to be sound or not:D

I love them when they are that size, one of mine when it was that size uncoiled like a spring from my hand once while I was showing her to a cousin and it landed on his chest while striking and just grazing his nose by a whisker....:P...........he nearly had a heart attack right there in front of me:oops:

Congrats! I also have a couple of things to touch on.

How are you measuring the temperatures in that enclosure? It's important to not guess but to always know what the temps are. Are you controlling the heat with a thermostat or rheostat?

I suggest covering the back and two sides with dark paper to make the glass enclosure not feel so open. Get an accurite thermometer to measure the heat and humidity as well.

You don't want to keep her on soaking wet paper all the time. Wet and humidity are not the same thing. You will have an easier time of keeping it around 65% humidity if you cover most of the screen with several layers of aluminum foil (shiny side down), or use a cut of plexiglass to cover it.

Keeping her on wet substrate is asking for scale rot.

Hope you get everything squared away! :)

Oh! Fire hazard! Please use the little rubber legs that came with the UTH to raise your tank off of the WOOD table you have her on and prevent cracking the glass, burning your snake and worse burning down your house.

Those UTH's need to be raised and have air flow to prevent big problems.

im using flukerfarms digital thermometer/hydrometer to measure thoes.. you can see it because its on the cool side.. i move it around its not stuck.. i dont gues.. lol i found that the hard way.. i have backups and waht not..

im actually going to fix the setup today.. and will take your advice and lift the tank off the table..

ill try the plexiglass but i like the damp towel better..

its only wet in there because the snake tipped over the old waterbowl.. lol i changed it.. :)

Great looking snake, just to add what everyone else said, my vet gave me a good idea take a tupperware tub and cut a hole in it use some potting soil in it and get it wet and it will help with the humidity up and atleast above 60%. Just idea best of luck
