ya know i've been thinking about this for quite a while, it would be cool if there was a website that had "morph recipes" like it would say "snake x" + "snake y" = "snake xy". It would be a great help to beginners looking to research all the morphs and genetics. If anyone knows about something like this than post that link and it would be greatly appreciated

Well this is a start into genetics doesnt have anywhere close to all the morphs but its a good stepping stone. :gj: http://www.ballpython.ca/genetics.html

I don't get this, It's showing different outcomes for recessive, co-dom, and dominant traits. But when it's doing the combo for the spider it say's that there is a het. and a homo. If it's dominant then it can't have a het.

:rofl::rofl: I have never noticed that before lol. any one else here have any super spiders ? hehehehehe I think he just hasnt updated the site since spiders first came out. It states "**As of yet, and to the best of my knowledge Spiders have not been proven to be a true 'dominant' mutation"

Do you atleast know what is a het and an homozygous ?

First mean there is only 1 allele of the gene, the other one mean there specimen (here the ball python) have both allele of the gene.

The spider being dominant mean that if you have 1 allele, the gene show and if you have both the gene also show up. But as far as I know, no one have been able to prove a spider to be homozygous (you know it, because when breed to a normal, all the babies will be spider).

If you can,t understand this, you need to read more on genetics. Cause genetics is even harder than this. One gene can affect another one, without being on the same chromosome spot. There is priority numbers between gene chromosome etc... but this doesn't look to apply to color mutation in ball python but could may be explain the ringer stuff.

Well heres ralphs Its not exactly what you want but you can check out each individual morph it has a pic of them and most have the genetics listed next to the pic (what makes them) :gj:
