    Ugandan herps
Some of the better photos from my recent holiday in Uganda. Got a new camera which helps some but I am still a terrible photographer although they are better shots than the Madagascan ones I uploaded a few years ago.

Went out to visit (and collect!) my wife who had been working in a hospital there. From a wildlife POV the main focus was primates (I got to fulfil a long held dream to see wild chimps :)) but we did see some nice herps.

The highlights were the huge Nile monitors and the vivid agamas. Disappointingly I didn't see a single snake, especially since I visited both rock python and gaboon viper territory. It is an amazing country for wildlife as you can see the transition from East African savannah to the Central African rain forest.

I'm just linking to the picassa album rather than posting pics:

Wow! I wish I was as terrible a photographer as you are! What amazing and beautiful pictures! I cruised through both albums and thoroughly enjoyed myself!! What an awe-inspiring experience that must have been!

When I was in Brazil, my favorite thing was to play with the shower frogs...

    Too cool!!!

Nice photos. If your main interest was in seeing chimpanzee's you probably have some nice photos of them to share with us as well.

The photos are just down to being lucky enough to be around the animals and the intelligent auto mode on my nice new camera. I have of course not included the blurry out of focus shots which are far more numerous then the ones that came out!

The chimps with their thick forest habitat and dappled light (no flash!) are much harder to photograph than sun lounging reptiles but there are some shots in this album:
