    One hungry snake
without a decent food source. I have been buying 3 mice a week from Petco for about a year now for roughly $2.60 a piece.:O The Petco rats are always huge and the mice are too small and I would rather do business somewhere else. I was able to get a properly sized rat once and my snake ate it P/K no problem(he also eats mice P/K). After reading several of the where do you buy your F/T from threads I decided to get some small rats from The Mouse Factory. And they are great however, my snake won't eat them. The rats were warm, heated with the hairdryer and zombie danced. Why oh why did I buy rats instead of mice!?!?!?
My question is do you think my snake would eat F/T mice?
Or am I just stuck buying live from Petco that I P/K?
Im still gonna try to get him to eat the rats by scenting them with mice but Im not very hopeful. Im glad I only bought 15!
    Thanks in advance!

Well it sounds like you have been feeding your snake mice? So moving over to rats is not going to be easy, the smell different and after a year the snake is looking at the rat like its not food doesnt smell the smame or look the same, so its not going to be easy to change them back over to rats but dont give up. KEEP TRYING. try to take a mouse and rub it over the rat so the rat will smell like the mice. BEST of luck

Just to clarify. You were feeding live or p/k mice and then switched to f/t rats?

Sorry, apparently I wasn't very clear. Said snake has been eating 3 p/k mice a week. I was able to find a correctly sized rat once so I fed him that with no problem p/k. He took the rat right away. So I figured if I got the correct size of rat f/t he would eat them and that way there would only be one thing to swallow instead of 3, cheaper, easier blah blah. So I don't know if he doesn't wanna eat it cause its a rat or because its f/t. Does this make more sense? lol

the local pet store ran out of small rats a couple weeks ago so I had to feed him 2 mice. It took him a while to eat either one but finally he ate both of them.
