Quick Question

My spider has been getting better and better being handled over the past month. He's getting more relaxed with no striking or nervousness.

So yesterday he did something kind of wierd for the first time. He wrapped himself completely around my wrist and then started squeezing kind of in a pulse motion. He started pushing his chin into my my skin and was squeezing my wrist with his whole body.

Just wondering if anyone knows what he was doing or why he was doing it. I let him do it for a few minutes, just watching him, then took him off and put him back in his tank.

Is/was he starting to shed?

The "pulsing" you were feeling is likely the muscle movement your snake uses to navigate, and it felt more intense because he was wrapped tightly. Every now and then my bp wil rub his nose on me so I wouldn't worry about it. It is likely he was just holding on firmly because he felt insecure, so unless the behaviour continues I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Mine does the same thing. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I always thought that was a sign of affection? :D
That or we're all being sized up for a later date? :confuzd: ;)
I think it's pretty normal, but somewhat disconcerting when they're doing it around your neck, lol.
