blue rats

so I have been pumping out a lot of blueish colored rats lately and I was wondering. how common are the blueish rats. heres a pic

Blue is a simple recessive. It's very possible to have them in our regular feeders.

I am unfortunately blessed with all Russian blues and have only just produced my first American/English blues, so I cannot tell you what shade of American Blue you have there.

Mine are very dark and a bit hard to distinguish from Russian Blue, the only clear indicator I have so far is that their undercoat is a light creamy/white color, whereas the Russian blues aren't.

The only down side I have heard about American/English blues is that they were heavily inbred by pet stores back in the day and thus are prone to illness and being plain neurotic. A few generations of regular selective breeding can hopefully isolate those problems and be rid of them.
