Calling all 'Fable' players!!

This is a request for help on the game from my BF, Ari:

"I can't get past the Witchwood Demon Door in 'Fable: The Lost Chapters' (for the Xbox 360). I talk to the door, head to the magic stones, input H, I, T, S, and return to the door...and it tells me exactly the same thing as before! What am I doing wrong? GameFAQS was no help at all."

I've watched him, and it's really driving him nuts. It's like there's nothing he can do, and if he doesn't get past that thing he can't continue the game or save progress.

Anyone have any ideas/solutions?

He already did, as stated when he said 'GameFAQ's was no help at all'... he did just what it said to do and got nothin.

I can't recall the exact words it uses, but the door lets you know that it only opens to its name, and only one man knows that name. Even after he inputs the letters at the standing stones and returns to the door, it says that exact same phrase. And according to GameFAQ's, you aren't supposed to TALK to that one man who knows! So, he's kinda stuck.

Wow, you totally got me. I can't remember if that was in the original Fable or only the Lost Chapters. However, Fable 2 comes out soon. ;)

Is he using the right weapon? If I remember correctly, you get a hammer right before you get to that part- I've always used that to hit the stones and it's always worked. Maybe it doesn't work with anything else?

Ah... HITS = Hit the stones... worth a shot, he's off to try it.

And he prefers the greatsword, so that's mostly what he uses. :D
