Go see Dr. Mertz!! He's by far the best herp vet there is in SE Mass, I have had direct experience with him. Prices are reasonable too.
He's centered in Weymouth (at New England Wildlife on Columbian St.) where he is the executive director, but usually does at least one night a week in Needham at the Chestnut St. Animal Hospital.
(781) 251-9131 is his number. www.newildlife.com is the Center's website. Good luck :gj:
Re: Reptile Vet in Southeastern mass?
Thank you. I have been calling around to local animal hospitals for information. I feel like most of these people are completely clueless with reptiles.
I had one place say that an appointment costs 45 and a float costs 64, while another said a visit costs 72 and a float costs 12. These are just two examples but its not like i could find a standard price for anything anywhere. I am tempted to go to the hospital for 72 and the 12 dollar float just to plead my case about bringing in fecals without a checkup.(which they said they couldn't) But then again there is another place which is fairly close so I wouldn't have to drive much who said they would do floats without an exam, yet their float is around 50 bucks. I'm really at a loss for words with these veternarians. It seems like reptiles are the last of their priorities. :sigh:
