    newbie breeding question
My son and I want to try to breed our normal bp.My son is 15 and loves animals and hopes to someday beacome a vet. I thought this would be a fun and a great learning experience for him.We have a normal male bp thats about 2 months old. What would be the best type to breed him with. I would like to do a simple morph to teach him about genitics. Any advice would be great. I know we are in for a long process but.... thats ok he still has 3 years of high school left. Thanks jeff

Firstly, I would try breeding him with a female
Secondly, any co-dom morph would be fun: pastel, spider, mojave, lesser, ummm.....drawing blanks....someone feel free to step in.... :P

As ambiguous as this may sound, I would say that it depends on what you want in the end.

If you are looking for a color morph, I would say pastel. They are relatively inexpensive and if you wanted, you can find older females fairly often to reduce the amount of time untill you have a pair that is ready to breed.

If you are looking for a pattern morph, I would suggest either a pinstripe or a spider. Both are readily available and both look great, in my opinion of course. Also, neither is terribly expensive, under $500 each at the moment.

Those would be my suggestions for a simple genetic project.

    I hope this helps,

    John
