    Room temps
What do you all keep your room temps at? What type of racks do you use? Summer temps and winter temps? I just got a new house and am trying to tweak my temps. I'm using RBI Plastics racks. Thanks for any input.

I use RBI plastics 32 quart, belly heat. I added extra holes in the tubs with a drill for airflow. I have 6 of them.

I use a ceramic heater, keep the room mid 70's. Some people like oil filled radiators, but with the RBI racks humidity is not a problem. When I get a couple ARS 30 slot CB70 racks, I will probably switch to an oil filled radiator.

Also, make sure you get a backup on/off thermostat. That 3" heat tape gets HOT and can cook your snakes and melt all your tubs. A backup is a must!

Well, being poor I keep my apartment temps at 72 in winter and 82 in summer. My snakes are in everything from individual tubs, to tanks, to a 3 tub rack I made myself. The corns will soon be in a homemade wooden cage system, and the other BPs will have a second handmade rack. The new MBK will always live in the living room.

The BPs have a UTH on each side of their enclosures, on thermostats. In winter, I also run an oil-filled space heater in the room to help keep things stable.

My racks are homemade melamine with flexwatt belly heat. Everything is in my basement, and it can get kinda cool down there, so I have a ceramic oscillating heater to bump the temps up to 75-80.

Room temps 80-82F with an oil filled heater on a Ranco Tstat.

Spring/Summer/Fall: RBI racks, hot side 95F, cool side 82-84.

Breeding season: Room temps 78-80F, Hot side 88F during , Cool side 78-80. I turn the heat tape of at 10PM and turn it back on at 9AM, so during that time the cage temps can drop to ambient room temperatures.
