    I love craigslist.....
You can always find something fun on there. Here is a lovely posting series.

    1st Post:
I have an 11 foot Female Burmese Python (she has been sexed). I am willing to let her go to the right person, I have specific information. If you do not have a permit do not even bother contacting me. Please call "Edited" and ask for Brad.

    2nd Post:
Um since when did Tx require you to have a permit to own a burmese python. I've done venomous for years and I was never required to have a "permit" and venomous is WAY more dangerous then a 11 foot burmese python. I don't have any snakes now but I still keep up on the laws that way when the time is right I can get back into venomous.

    3rd Post:
This guy is asking a permit for a burmese. This is the same guy that gave away an ANACONDA & when I called he wasen't asking for one then.

    4th Post(mine):
Here is the new law links! MUST have permit.
    http://pijac.org/files/public/TX_HB1309_A.pdf
    http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/faq/busi...es/index.phtml
So i would not let you take it unless you had a permit.
(I am not the person with the snake)

    5th Post:
Ok then how come he wasen't asking for it when he GAVE AWAY the YELLOW ANACONDA? A permit is NOT gonna ASURE you that its gonna be taken care of @ all. Just like a rehoming fee its not gonna be a sure thing just because the person is paying up the $$$$. I say let the experience talk for its self. So you mean to tell me that he's gonna give someone a 11ft snake just because they show him the permit. I say make a contract & do the RESEARCH on who's getting it. If they don't get it in a 2/4 week time then TAKE IT BACK. A least you'll know that it will be taken care of FOR SURE.

    6th Post:
No one cares what you think. In Texas, the state requires a permit to own certain large snakes, or they will be confiscated, and that's that. You are a complete dummy(edited due to lang.).

    7th Post:
    WOW!!!! YOUR CLASSY LOL

Yea so its been fun keeping up with this!

I made a mistake once of getting into it with someone about feeding my snake mice (they thought it was cruel) on craigslist... it wasn't pretty.

Absolutely, sounds like a pretty contributing post. I meant people's responses are not pretty - especially when they are proved wrong - then they just get to name calling.

To the person who kept venomous for years and keeps up with the laws for when he wants to get back into them.....You obviously haven't kept up with the laws very well. It's not only a law now that you have to have a permit to keep certain large constrictors, but you also now have to have the same permit to keep any venomous. It was all over Kingsnake.com last year while the bill was trying to get pushed through, and if finally did. It covers:

    1. Venomous
    2. Reticulated Pythons
    3. Green Anacondas
    4. and All Rock Pythons (Including Burmese Pythons)

However, yellow anacondas DO NOT require a permit in the state of Texas.

This is exciting.(something to do at work)

I always wonder why people think that they can dictate that the owner should NOT ask for a permit, or rehoming fee, or proof that they own purple fuzzy slippers before he sells/gives them HIS animal.
It's HIS animal. If I put a ball python up for a new home on Craigslist and I require that the new owner has a pair of purple fuzzy slippers or I won't give them the snake, it's MY BUSINESS!

But then some folks figure they don't have any lives, so they gotta get into everyone else's business. Nice that the link got put up and the info of when the bill was being pushed through(and obviously the oh-so-knowledgable guy didn't even pay attention then!).
