    Update: SunSpot the rescued pastel
It's been a while since I let you guys know how SunSpot, the badly abused rescued pastel, was doing. Well, he's wonderful. :D

You'd hardly believe, seeing him today, that he was a 44g emaciated thing when I got him. He is now one year old, the best eater in the house, on large adult mice, and weighing in at... 436g!

Here he is today, having just shed.

And here he was when I got him

The only sour note would be that those broken ribs of his turned into a huge kink in the middle of his back. Doesn't bother him one bit, and I'm hoping it won't impede his breeding abilities. :please:

Glad to see sunspot is doing great. Sorry to hear about the kink but hopefully being so high up it won't cause any issues.

:) Thanks. You can kind of see it in the new picture, just behind the neck coil on the lower section. Looks horrible in person, but he doesn't mind much except to hang his lower half whenever I pick him up.

Oh, and he's still nervous about being held, so I really think those injuries came from being squeezed. :O Poor baby.

He looks good! I tried to find the original thread (when you rescued him) to read the story but I couldn't find it. Can you post the url?

SunSpot is a yearling already! Boy that time sure did go by fast! He's looking wonderful. What a testament to loving and knowledgeable care that this once little abused guy is now a big healthy fella. Good for you!

Darcy (aka Adriana) honored us with SunSpot's rescue story. If you're interested have a look here....

She's done amazing things with this once badly hurt and mistreated little snake.

Darcy if you'd like to have me post this latest yearling picture of your wonderful SunSpot to sort of finish up that rescue story, just let me know.

Awesome to hear about the rescue. And I don't mean to be rude but are you sure you want to breed him? That kink may be genetic.

What a nice story! Glad he found his way into a good home. I rescued my pastel boy and he just sired a clutch for me last season. I wish you the same luck! :gj:
