    Again another newb question.. why does everyone use aspen.. will it cause blockages if swallowed and so on? Just wanna know..

    not everyone uses aspen,most use newspaper.
    aspen will most likley not harm a snake.they can digest bones so a lil wood sliver is really nothing.

    bhb reptiles has feed thousands of snakes on aspen for years and has never had an issue

    aspen can get stuck in there mouth but they eventually work it out.

    ah.. i just wanted to know because most care sheets I see say not to use wood of any kind.. but i just wanted to know from the professionals lol thanks

    There are types of wood that are safe to use, aspen and cypress being two I know of for sure. There are other types of wood that could be toxic to the snake due to vapors and chemicals they emit. Cedar and pine are the two that I know you should NOT use.
