    My new baby
This is Zig(ziggy...I got the name from bob marley's son)

I rescued it from some guy on craig's list. The guy said it is a few months old. It has only been fed once. It is in good hands now. I can't wait to see what this little beauty looks like as an adult.

Aww, he's really cute. I'm glad he's found himself a good home. Your tank looks really nice, though I do have to comment on the lack of coverage for him. The log will kind of function as one hide, but he ought to have another. And if you haven't got the top of it "foiled" then I suggest that as well. It REALLY helps with humidity. Oh, and I don't see a water bowl, but I'm guessing there's one in there somewhere.

Have you looked at the care sheet here? It would have all the info you need to tweak your set-up and make it perfect. It already LOOKS great. Just a few little things here and there to make it more "Bp approved" are needed. :gj:

thanks. the water bowl is behind the log. I was told to get one big enough for it to soak in. I'm always adding new things to my cages. This is my corn snake's tank. I'll be going to petsmart so I will pick up another hide.

While you're out, I would recommend purchasing an "Accurite" thermometer. You can get them at Wal-Mart for $12. They measure two temperatures (which snake people utilize for the hot side and the cold side) and the humidity. It's digital so it's easy to read, and it's a thousand times more accurate than the dial ones petsmart sells.

The reason I suggest this is that you have to be careful with the heat lamp that you have. For one, I don't think it will heat your tank to proper temperatures. But more importantly, those kinds of heating units have been known to suck humidity out of tanks. Without proper humidity, your ball python will have trouble shedding. You need to get something that will allow you to measure it accurately. Like I mentioned before, you can also cover the top of the tank with foil if it is a screen. By covering 3/4 of it with aluminum foil and tape, you help to trap humidity inside. :gj:

Edit: I would also suggest picking up some aquarium background while you're at Petsmart. If you cover 3 of the tank's 4 sides, it helps them feel more secure and it looks nicer to us. ;)

I have one of those for the gecko's cage.

and see in on the left I have another for the cool side. I think I paid like 10 bucks for each of them.
