Don't know what kind of Boa to get.
Looking to get the smallest kind of Boa, I've read in a post here that some Boas stay smaller then pythons, if so would anybody help me with the names of the breeds and where I can buy one. Thanks for all your help!!

Caulker cay boas (BCI) are very great first time boas. and EASY to keep. and fairly cheap. 150-300 bucks just about. Stay REALLY small!

Mexican Dwarf/Tarahumara Boas (BCI) also stay nice and small, but are again, on the pricier side of things.

Boa Constrictor Sabogae( BCS ) are on the pricy side of things, but again, easy to keep and very small.

Also on the short list are Leopard boas, Crawl Cay Boas, Maize Isle Boas, Hog Islands

Take a look at www.riobravoreptiles.com, Lots of info and lots of different boas you may like.

and typically, it depends entirely on the species of python or boa.

There are some boas that can get HUGE! 8+ feet. and some pythons that stay very very small. ( Childrens pythons, ball pythons to name a couple examples)

    also Nics and Amarali

keep in mind that almost all boas, even the smaller types, can still grow unusually large if overfed when young.
do careful research on feeding your smaller boa when you pick a species and stick to the recommendations and you should be in good shape!

Do some research. Seriously it will help. Yes some of those she listed are under 5 feet. Also one thread would have been enough.

Colombian boas are popular because they're calmer than the small species. Alicia I would not be recommending some of those boas, but to each their own. I keep Nicaraguans, and they're very active in hand, and don't take kindly to being told where they're supposed to go.
