Panacur dosing: Please check my math!
First, let me say that I am not asking for opinions on if I should do this or not. I have decided to dose my BP with Panacur after having done plenty of research to make sure I do it safely and effectively. Tell me I am dumb or I should go to a vet if you must, but the only input I am looking for is if my math is right.

I am taking a 1 gram packet of 22.2% fenbendazole granules (222mg) and mixing it with 111mL of sterile water or saline solution. This will give me a solution of 2mg/mL of fenbendazole.

I will be dosing the solution orally to the snake at 50mg/Kg. My snake is 175g which is 0.175Kg. So the dosage needed should be:

    (0.175Kg)*(50mg/Kg) = 8.75mg ~ 9mg

    (9mg)/(2mg/mL) = 4.5mL of the solution

Do the calculations make sense to everyone else? I just want to be sure my math is correct. I was thinking about dosing 75mg/Kg but I decided to err on the side of caution and use 50mg/Kg.

    Thanks!

4.375 ml to be exact. 4.5 sounds good, especially if it's a 50-75mg/kg therapeutic range. Better slightly over minimum than under it. :) BTW: Saline solution? I'm not sure what the pH of a snake is but maybe sterile water is better to ingest?

Good point. I will use sterile water. There are probably some salts in the Panacur granules anyway so I don't want to risk causing dehydration.
