    White Plains Show
I convinced my mother who is petrified of snakes to have the whole family go and travel one hour and half to see reptiles. It was my first show and it was AWESOME!!!! I got to hold a couple of normal balls and one kinked columbian boa with my sis. She never even met a reptile much less held one. So I was there for backup. But I loved it. Thank you to all the breeders who attended and especially to those who let us hold their snakes even though they didn't know us. Tell me about your first reptile show experience!!! Thank You!:banana::D

This was my first reptile show too.

I was in a fortunate position. I was there merely to exchange a cage damaged in shipping with Reptile Basics.

So, I wasn't shopping! I was impressed by the sheer quantity of snakes on display, and how varied they were. On the other hand, there were just a lot of snakes... many many of them looking pretty much alike. Of course, there were also lizards, frogs, turtles, cockroaches....

That's why I said I was glad I wasn't shopping... too many choices!

Because I'd already gotten our cage, heater, thermostat, frozen rats, etc., etc., etc., in place, it was a leisurely stroll up and down the aisles. I did take a couple of photos so my son (who couldn't attend that day) could see the setup. Maybe I'll post some of them.

I did get to spend a few minutes talking to a very nice lady who had a table. She's a veterinarian who deals with exotics. It's likely that she participated in a surgery done on my parrot at the NY Animal Medical center about 15 years ago, and she has her own practice now. I may take my parrot (a 33 year old African Grey) there for a checkup.

So, all in all a pleasant way to kill a few hours, and not empty my wallet!
