Restless BP

For the last month or so, my bp seems to be extremely restless. Unlike all winter long, he's up and moving most of the day. Still eating, shedding well, etc.,but seems really agitated. In fact, for the first time, he actually escaped. We found him really fast under the bed. I'm wondering if he's agitated.

What's changed? New enclosure - slightly bigger, but just under his length. Heat now controlled via thermostat when it wasn't before!

I've covered the entire outside of the glass in his enclosure and the top to try and help him feel safe. I'm not sure what's going on. Any thoughts?

Did you set up the new one simular to the old?

Some snakes are more active than others, and some take more time to adjust to a new environment. Although it could be that your snake is stressed for some reason due to a change in the new cage. Could you describe the setup? (Hides, thermometer, location, etc)

The hides were just moved from one enclosure to the next, so they're exactly the same. I have a UTH under one side - the warm side - generally at about 92 degrees - ambient is 85, the cool side can range, but generally between 75 and 78 degrees via a temp gun. Would it really take 10 weeks for acclimation to a new enclosure? I'm actually considering going back to the old small one and seeing if there's a difference. Oh...humidity is generally at 54 percent, although on some really humid days it goes a bit higher. Last shed was good - actually he's never really had a bad shed. Again, eating and eliminating well. Just totally restless. For example, he ate two mice tonight - rested briefly, but was then out and about again.

You also asked about location. He's in my daughter's room that is uninhabited 'cuz she's away at college - only the cat sleeps in there at night and no other traffice, except for me checking on him a couple of times a day.
