    Well that pretty much gives no details but it sounds like irresponsibilty on the intern's part. Not saying he deserved it but.. the situation definitely could've been avoided.

    That is very suspicious.
    I don't think a python would try to constrict anything wayy above it's feeding size like that, it's instinct to know that that's a waste of energy.
    Plus it didn't even attempt to eat him, which is against instinct too. Hm..
