    Substrate and Enclosures
I read somewhere that Cedar and Pine are bad for reptiles as substrate, but how about for an enclosure building material. More so plywood with pine in it.

I know Cedar has bad vapors that come off of it but what is the story behind pine or is that a rumor?

I would not use cedar or pine for snakes due to their oils and vapors.

For substrate, and depending on the snake, I use either kraft paper or aspen or both. For a nest, or humid hide when needed, I use Chilean long fiber moss.
