Non Eating BP'S

i need help bad.......:(
i have two baby bp ( X , and mr. )
and have had them for 2 weeks now.....
they shed two-four days after being purchased
and were feeding on live fuzzy
ive tried feeding them fuzzy,pinky,pet mice etc f/t and live no luck
and they look real skinny skin is loose and im worrried:worry::worry:...
buit they are always active just worrried about the feeding and will they starve to death???
plz help

hey i im'd you earlier could you post pics of their cages. And of them. Also can you includ ethe temps on hot and cool side same with humidity. hope all goes well for you. -Josh

A couple of questions:

Where did you purchase from - pet store or reputable breeder?

Did you see them feeding before purchasing?

If they are skinny / loose skin - where they like this when you got them - it would be very quick for this to appear after just 2 weeks in your possession?

What is the set up they are being kept in (Husbandry) - temps, humidity, cage, tub, hides etc?

Are they in separate enclosures?

A lot of things could be contributing to them refusing to eat, especially if they are still acclimatising to their new home.

We need more details. Pictures of each of their enclosures would be helpful - I'm going to assume that you ARE housing them separately.

Also, you've only had them two weeks and you've offered a lot of food in that short time. Over-offering food can also stress out a baby and cause even more refusals.

I suspect it's a husbandry issue that's causing the refusals (too large of an enclosure, with hides that are too big, housing together, etc). That's why we'll need more details to be able to help you.

Here's one clue - if they are always active, never settling - then they are stressed out and you will need to figure out what's stressing them out and help them get settled into their new enclosures.

I say don't worry because I've been having problems with my Spider BP not eating recently. It's sooo annoying. I took his tank completely apart, re organized everything. The water bowl is closer to the heater and the light, placed tin foil over the top of my tanks and added some fake foliage (spelling?).

I also cranked the heat up on the UTH to 92. Now, last night, dropped in the rat and BAM! Dead rat. I'm lucky I have 2 snakes, on that was eating, one that wasn't. I made their homes almost the same and now I have no problems.

poll was not descriptive,baby balls not eating yes its a proplem adluts or sub adults going off feed not a proplem.

To the OP... If you are embarrassed because you don't really know what people are asking you, don't be. So many people here have had no clue when they first started out. We are here to help. No one will judge you. Just let us know a little about how they are housed and then we can help.

well right now they share a 20 gallon tank
reason being due to schoool etc etc i didnt have money for another one and the 10 gal i have has a crack and i only use as a feeding tank.
i will post pics of them. ( just need to find out how ) lol

Yes, I think there is definitely need to worry. If you got them from a pet store, there is more than a good chance that they are imported straight from Africa and haven't eaten in their entire life.

If I were you, I'd try to bring them back, and get some from a breeder or vivarium; and make sure you see them eat before purchase.
