Thought I'd stick this up here for anyone who's never seen one... We were out looking for rocks and reptiles in May of last year, and I saw this really fast lizard. It took my husband about ten minutes to catch it, but it was an entertaining chase. Then I noticed her belly was full of eggs and we felt really bad for stressing her out. It turns out that in this species only gravid females have those awesome orange spots. She's a longnose leopard lizard.
