    Ouch! - This hurt
And we won't know what is causing the problem until Tuesday which means MORE vet bills.

    It's head.

This vet is outrageous with the fees.
Basically $300 to find out NOTHING!

Well it does look like it's mostly lab fees and let's be honest, those do not come cheap nor with a guarantee that they'll find an immediate answer. It's a hard hit to take but worth it I think to find out what happened or to rule out what did not happen.

The lab fees and the exam fees are crazy if you ask me.
They have the market cornered since no one else will even look at a snake so they are very expensive.

The tests "should" determine what is going on. Hopefully it is not the extreme scenario they mentioned where spinal fluid is leaking and causing the swelling from a genetic flaw. If so, he will NEVER be a breeder if he makes it thru treatment.
They ruled out an abcess and an aneurism based upon what came out in the biopsy so now we wait an see.

It's the same with birds. My snake vet is also my avian vet. Good guy, but man I leave there with my hind end hurting sometimes. Last vet bill was over $500 on a new bird that came in we ran a few extra tests on before I brought her into my home. I agree though, totally worth it for the peace of mind if nothing else.

Hope evrything turns out ok for the snake. It sux the way the vet's got ya by the balls ( no pun intended ). A few years ago I spent $150 to save a $50 snake, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck with him.
