What to breed to a Male yellow belly?
So I purchased a 2008 Yellow Belly male as my first Ball with the intent to eventually produce Ivories. Now I'm curious what do you think would be the best move to make (consider price wise as well as breeding wise)?
Should I buy an older Ivory female breeder? A few 08 or 07 or 06 YB females that would equal the same price as an older Ivory female? Some either ready to mate next season or now?
What else would you breed to a YB?
Thanks!

Female yellow belly.
But really, the yellow belly gene, looks great in a lot of morph lines.

Personally I would get a pastel female to breed to him. Two reasons why. First, pastel-yellowbellies look great, almost as good as pastel-fires. Second, pastels are pretty cheap in comparison to all other morphs, since you said that price is an issue.
Here is a picture of a pastel-yellowbelly.

Almost everything looks better with some YB in it. If you have the patience to wait for Ivories then I would get an older Pastel and a young female YB. The Pastel will be cheaper and the Pastel-YB is a hot combo. I'm in the same boat with my male YB. I need something other than a normal to breed with him.

Pastel YB + Pastel YB could be a very powerful combination :). In the same clutch you could have: Normals, YBs, Pastels, Super Pastels, Ivories & Pastel Ivories.
