Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
Will you be using a fan? I think it looks smashing!!!!!
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
Incubator looks good. Are you going to put some plexi on the front window section?
I dont have a fan in mine but I got an old refrigerator. its a really small one and only holds one egg box, is a fan necessary?
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
the window is plexi glass... its just really clean and we used clear sealant ;)
We hadnt planned on using a fan just because everything weve read has said no fans except in really big incubators. did i read wrong? I cant wait to get some heat in it!!!
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
Very cool. nice job im sure it will work great :gj:
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
I dont think an incubator that small will need it, the fans in bigger incubators are there to eliminate hot spots and I cant imagine there being too many hot spots in a space that small..
What type of thermostat are you going to use on it?
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
I havnt really decided.. I have a Johnson I can use or another one... the other one (Cant remember name) is steady as a rock and has never done us "Wrong" it is perfect by comparative to the johnsons.
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
Our incubator has been fired up for a couple days now, our temps are stable and im one happy person!!!
Our temps are MIN90.2-MAX90.7... the only problem is inside the egg tub the humidity is only 46%.. do I need to add more water to the substrate? It needs to be at least 95% right?
I will take some photos tonight. :)
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
If you use Glad Press and Seal, you wont have to worry about what the hygrometer says if your using the egg crate and substrate. We just soaked the vermiculite and the humidity stayed perfect.
Re: ta da!! Cooler Incubator
What substrate are you using?
If you have the proper amounts of water in the substrate, it should be a high humidity level.
