first feed

the first feed went fine, after he got everything but the tail in i noticed that he still has un-shed skin on his bottom jaw, i have been trying to keep my humidity right around mid 50's which was about the same when he shed last week. I have only had him a week, any suggestions as to what to do?

I Have pushed the humidity up to about 70ish

Normal humidity should be around 50-60, during shed it should be 70-80.... Offering a humid hide is advisable during this time...

he already shed like this past Friday, Its just an incomplete shed, should i just leave it be? or should i try and remove it?

you can try soaking the snake, or put it in a small tub with lid on the warm end of enclosure with a little bit of luke warm water in it for a 1/2 hour...

Next time its shedding though bump up the humidity and this wont happen...

yeah, but i didn't know he was going to shed. I got him shipped to me last wednesday.

We have a really good sticky on what to do about a bad shed. :)

You really want to remove any stuck shed that completely encircles his body - so I would definately try and get the shed off his tail.

Though I would definately wait until at least 48 hours has passed since he ate before trying to do anything.

he has a couple small spots that are only a couple centimeters along his back which i know isn't any big deal, but its the scales on the bottom of his jaw it didnt start coming loose till he ate and they stretched to swallow the mouse.
