How often do you feed your baby boas? 7 days? 5 days???

Not talking about power feeding or any of that crap. Do boas have a tendency to get overweight if you let them (like blood pythons)

    thanks

We went with every 7 of a prey item that left a discernible lump (not a gross distension though). We tend to feed a bit larger than girth prey item but not hugely so mostly because the boas grow so darn fast that first year I kind of figure they need that extra fuel. I swear there were days Sev seemed to grow before my very eyes LOL.

We've never seen Sev (or the boarder Morgaine) fat but I know Jamie told me that when he got Tequila she had been a bit overfed and was too heavy so obviously they can run to fat if you overdo it. Boas being not terribly picky about what or how they eat and generally having a very strong hunting response - well I can see it could happen.

we do every 7 also.. we make sure he gets a meal that leaves a nice size lump but not huge. Hes had a nive growth pattern and is certainly not over weight. I have read and been told the boas do have a tendancy to get over weight, they should have an almost triangle look to them if i remember correctly. Congrats on that baby again! beautiful
