'Small Rats?'
For all of you out there with multiple adult ball pythons answer me this. Would an adult ASF be considered a large rat or would the size need to be larger for a 2000 gram female?
I know it depends on the snake, but most people stick to small rats for most of a bps life. Would this be considered an ASF? I'm wondering this because ASFs seem kinda small in comparison to me.
I don't want to breed rats unless I have to. My RTB will be eating large rats eventually but they will be frozen and stored, not bred by me.
Thanks!

My adult females 2000g and over get 3-4 adult mice. These mice weigh around 20-25g apiece. An adult ASF generally weighs what, 75-100g, so that's fine for an adult female. Adults need alot less food because they are just maintaining their weight, not growing.

How small is too small for a large adult? Not necessarily going by gram size ratio, but width of the ASF compared to the snake?
Thanks!

Not to be too.. questiony..
But an adult ASF would be good for an adult male at 1200g as well as an adult female at 2000g?
Just getting all my plans straight. :gj:

Perfectly fine, during most of the year my girls get small rats which are anywhere between 60 to 85 grams (which is about the equivalent of an ASF) only mature breeding females get more food prior to breeding season (I don’t feed a bigger preys I just give them a second one)
Be in tune with your snakes and do what works for you, I am sure you will be fine ;)

Re: 'Small Rats?'
Don't worry, if one adult ASF isn't enough, those big female snakes will let you know pretty dang fast. LOL I always know when I get that glare out the front of the tub...."hey lady! hey over here! toss me another will ya!". :)

Re: 'Small Rats?'
LOL! Same here. I feed everybody 1 large ASF except for bigger females.... they get two (or 1 x breeder). They go NUTS for the x breeders.
